I love Smokey and the Bandit and would love to see it in a theater with a crowd. My friends and I took some of our kids to see Better Off Dead at a Regal Tuesday screening this month. They loved it because its bizarre humor was their jam and also I think because they couldn’t look at their phones for 90 minutes. When I showed my daughter Spinal Tap at home for the first time last week she liked it, but didn’t love it, I believe, because we watched it at home. The Regal screenings are a great idea but I still prefer The New Beverly for old classics because at Regal we are usually one quarter to one third of the audience and a full laughing crowd definitely makes for a better experience.
