Save the Critters!

by Melissa Uhrin
I have a tendency to write about things that are happening in my life. I’m not sure about how our disaster is being portrayed on the world news, but with the Fort McMurray fires happening right now just a few short kilometers away from where I live, the smoke has travelled to our city. Our hearts have given an outpouring of love and we have all dug deep to provide what we can to help. The city’s entire population of 100,000 were evacuated, 2400 structures were destroyed, but thanks to the incredible bravery and hard work of the people fighting the fires, over 85% of the city still stands and there were zero fatalities within the city. Wow, really it’s an incredible outcome.

Riske Business: The Summer Movie Stock Market

Who had a good summer at the movies? Who hit the skids? What trends are on the rise? Which are sucking wind? I sat down with Jaden Smith and, using multidimensional mathematics, we found the special equation to get our summer movie answers. It was tough. We had to develop a whole new set of mathematics to get to these equations because our mathematics hasn’t evolved enough yet. Anyways, it was a really fun sleepover party. Brody Jenner was there. Bai Ling. Cash bar! Patterns, boom.

Review: The Conjuring

by Adam Riske
I had a great time watching The Conjuring, and I’d recommend it to anyone, even if they don’t usually like horror movies. It’s such a fun movie-going experience.

Watchin' Trailerz with Doug (March 1)

Boy, the [barf]Academy Awards[/barf] sure did suck, right? Long, boring, unsurprising, lackluster ... one of the only highlights (IMHO) was Quentin Tarantino's Best Original Screenplay win for Django Unchained. But even that was kinda lame (leather tie included). I dunno. Old man Oscar Gold is on his last legs (which means we probably won't be "live-tweeting" the broadcast next year [sorry F-Heads]). On the other hand, did anyone see the Independent Spirit Awards? If so, what did you think of Andy Samberg's opening monologue?
