Review: Battleship (Alex's Take)

I think what we’ve got with Peter Berg’s Battleship is a prototypical example of the differences that arise between filmmaking and film marketing.

Back in July, I lamented the absence of the [then] new teaser for Battleship (release date: May 18, 2012) on YouTube. This week, the second full-length preview debuted online, which shows more of the backstory (SPOILER: it's aliens). Because Battleship was being such a dick in the summer, I'm not going to feature it today. If you really, REALLY want to see it, feel free to click one of these links. Maybe you'll get lucky! Also, for what it's worth, the U.S. Navy hasn't had an actual battleship in its fleet for nearly two decades. So ... GOOD JOB HASBRO!
